He has taught English and Creative Writing for over 25 years and until recently lectured at Hull University. He has contributed to writing magazines, family history magazines and journals.   'Write the Landscape' with Simon Whaley - Author & Photographer
 Simon Whaley is an award-winning writer and bestselling author. His articles (and photos!) have appeared in publications such as BBC Countryfile, Heritage, British Heritage (USA), The People's Friends, Cumbria, In Britain, The Observer, Holiday Villas & Cottages and FlyBe Uncovered, and his short stories have been pubnlished in The Weekly News, The People's Friend, Take a Break, Ireland's Own and Take a Break's Fiction Feast. He also successfully sell his images via the Alamy photographic agency.
Topics to be covered on the course:
What is Landscape?
Sensing the Landscape - drawing upon all of our senses to convey the whole atmosphere.
Telling Stories - creating scenes, in fiction or non-fiction, to tell a story of the landscape.
Detailing the landscape - adjectives, nouns & adverbs.
How does weather affect our interaction with the landscape?
The landscape as character.
Mapping the landscape - using the visual representation of landscape to inspire creativity.
'Write a SHORT STORY in a weekend - Sell it when you get home'

Della is no stranger to writing fiction. She has sold hundreds of short stories both in the UK and abroad. She also writes serials for Woman's Weekly, teaches all aspects of fiction writing.
Her course are interactive and informal and youwill be given plenty of time to write and receive constructive feedback

She is also the author of '12 Point Guide to Writing Romance,' Kate's workshops can be adapted to any form of popular fiction, and 'Relax & Write' plan weekend courses, two part courses and retreats, so that you can benefit from her expertise in this genre. Writing Fiction is big business and Kate is an excellent Course Leader of this genre.

Alison Chisholm is an award-winning poet who has over 800 poems published in magazines, anthologies and ten collections, or brodcast by the BBC Radio 4 Radio Network Northwest and Channel 4 TV. Alison has written textbooks on aspects of creative Writing and the Writers' Bureau poetry correspondence course. She teaches in adult education, gives talks and readings, adjudicates competitions and is poetry correspondent for 'Writing Magazine.' She is an excellent tutor. Her courses are informal and friendly. With plenty of time to develop your writing style, you will receie constructive feedback and guidane on how to express yourself in the written word.
